Szene aus der Erstufführung des Theaterstückes „Die Hexen von Salem“ vom amerikanischen Bühnenschriftsteller Arthur Miller (1915-2005) in Elbing. Das Stück wurde am 11.02.1970 vom Stefan-Jaracz-Theater aufgeführt. Das Drama knüpft an die Hexenprozesse in der Städtchen Salem von 1692 an und war eine allegorische Antwort auf den in den USA wütenden McCarthyismus, der vom republikanischen Senator J.R. McCarthy 1950 in Gang gesetzt wurde. Seine Uraufführung hatte das Bühnenwerk im Broadway 1953 und gewann den Tony-Preis für das beste Stück des Jahres. Übersetzung - Wacława Komarnicka und Krystyna Tarnowska, Regie - Jerzy Wróblewski, Bühnenbild - Liliana Jankowska, musikalische Bearbeitung - Włodzimierz Jarmołowicz.
