Biblioteka Elbląska w swoich zbiorach dokumentów życia społecznego posiada kolekcję widokówek (kart pocztowych) promujących różne miasta, m.in.: Elbląg, Braniewo, Gdańsk, Tczew, Malbork, Frombork, Sopot etc. Wśród zbiorów znajduje się kolekcja 6 kart pocztowych na których uwieczniono ośrodek turystyczno-wypoczynkowy Tolkmicko (niem. Tolkemit). Małe miasteczko, obok portu rybackiego posiada przetwórnię ryb, zakłady przetwórstwa owoców i warzyw oraz wiele ciekawych zabytków, m.in. : kościół parafialny pw. św. Jakuba Apostoła z XV wieku, basztę gotycką oraz pozostałość murów obronnych z XIV wieku, dworzec kolejowy z 1867 roku, kapliczki przydrożne na drogach wyjazdowych z miasta etc. Kartki pocztowe pochodzą z lat 1965-1978 roku, wydane przez Biuro Wydawnicze „Ruch” oraz Krajową Agencję Wydawniczą, autorstwa M. Murmana, Z. Grabowieckiego i S. R. Sadowskiego.
