Periodyk założony w 1764 roku przez Jana Jakuba Kantera (1738-1786)- księgarza, drukarza, wydawcę, pochodzącego ze znanej rodziny Kanterów, którzy już od ok. 1730 r. trudnili się drukarstwem i księgarstwem w Królewcu. Gazeta ukazująca się cyklicznie w poniedziałki i w piątki, o charakterze regionalnym. Czasopismo zawierało bieżące wiadomości gospodarcze, polityczne i kulturalne z kraju i ze świata, prezentowało artykuły popularnonaukowe, utwory literackie, muzyczne, opowiadania, anegdoty, nowinki ze świata nauki i kultury oraz przedruki z innych gazet. Wśród autorów zamieszczających w nim swe materiały znajdowali się m.in. Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) – niemiecki filozof oświeceniowy, profesor logiki i metafizyki na uniwersytecie Albrechta w Królewcu i Johann Gottfried Herder (1744-1803) – niemiecki filozof, pastor i pisarz, jeden z klasyków weimarskich, a także znani wówczas literaci.W zbiorach Biblioteki Elbląskiej znajdują się egzemplarze z lat 1764-1765.
